Then one day last spring, Bob’s employer thought the company’s computer system had been attacked by a virus.
The ensuing forensic probe revealed that Bob’s software code had in fact been the handiwork of a Chinese subcontractor.

The statue of Maitreya Buddha in Leshan is one of the tallest statues of Buddha on Earth, for more than a millennium, the highest sculptural work in the world. It is carved out of a cliff face that lies at the confluence of the Minjiang, Dadu and Qingyi rivers in the southern part of Sichuan, province in China, near the city of Leshan.

Laolongtou or “The Old Dragon’s Head” is part of the Shanhai Pass (also known as Shanhaiguan) of the Great Wall of China. It is where the Great Wall ends to the East and leads into the Bohai Sea. It is located in Shanhaiguan District of Qinhuangdao, Hebei and is nearly 300 kilometres (190 mi) east of Beijing.
The original wall was built during the Ming Dynasty which flourished from 1368 to 1644. The wall extends about 20 meters (66 ft) into the sea, like a dragon drinking water. During an invasion in 1900 much of the original wall was destroyed and apparently in 1984, the people of Shanhaiguan worked to restore the wall. [Source]

Spotted last Thursday over Beijing was this incredible mushroom-like cumulonimbus storm cloud as a plane flies past, giving us a great indication of how massive this cloud really is. Apparently this gigantic cloud took over 70 minutes to form and was followed by quite the storm. An awesome capture spotted by Wired Aperture.

On June 9, a grand martial arts performance was staged to celebrate China’s seventh Cultural Heritage Day in Tagou Wushu School in central China’s Henan Province. In 2005, the Chinese government established a national ‘Cultural Heritage Day’ to be celebrated annually on the second Saturday of June in order to promote the protection of its rich cultural resources. ‘Cultural Heritage Day’ was first celebrated on June 10, 2006.
