A real-life recreation of the ‘Riverside Scene at Qingming Festival’ handscroll painting is photographed at a lantern exhibition in Fuyang, located in central China’s Anhui province, on January 16, 2012. The original painting that the exhibition is based on was created by Chinese palace artist Zhang Zeduan during the Northern Song Dynasty over 1,000 years ago. The lantern show runs until February 23, 2012.

A beautiful collection of portraits from elderly men and women know as “centenarian” and have reached the age of 100 by the German Photographer Karsten Thormaehlen for his Book “Happy at Hundred” or “Jahrhundertmensch”. From the original Peta Pixel article they say that “In 2009, the UN estimated that there are only about 455,000 centenarians in the world.” The book is available both in German and English and more information and order options are available at his Blog.
